Auditors from the renowned certification institute TÜV visited Neobus on Tuesday, 19th of January 2010. Their task was to inspect all the business functions of Neobus and check if those were in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. The auditors went through all the departments and talked to the processes’ owners. They observed every aspect of Neobus’ business and gave their remarks and advice.

The auditors had thoroughly gone through all services and sectors, and the owners of these processes had the opportunity to present their business to visitors and convince them that they worked accordingly to the standards of ISO quality system. After this, an information meeting was held with all participants of the review process led by General Manager, Mr. Radenko Kostic.

On that occasion, the representatives of TÜV stated that they were very satisfied with what they saw in Neobus, and that their report to TÜV certification house shall be positive, thus Neobus should soon expect the official delivery of the certificate to Neobus.

This success is a necessary stage in the process of realization of a job a decade with the Dutch VDL. This is also a requirement for the export activities to the EU.

Majority stakeholder of Neobus, Mr. Alaa M. A. Maghrabi, from Saudi Arabia, has organized a luncheon for all the Neobus’ workers and major business partners of Novi Sad Bus Factory. The event took place at the famous Novi Sad restaurant “Zlatna medalja”. Over 200 guests had an opportunity to hear Neobus’ plans for the year 2010 explained by General Manager, Mr. Radenko Kostić and Board Chairman, Mr. Zoran N. Kijac. They wished all the best in the New Year to all the present expressing their hope that Neobus would continue making even more success than in 2009, the year in which the business deal of the decade with VDL Bus and Coach was closed. They especially distinguished the contribution to the success of Mr. Zoran Radovanović, head of MTA, an agency that connected Neobus and VDL, and of Mr. Nenad Lužanin, head of Volvo Serbia, recalling the thirty years of cooperation of the two companies.

Twenty best workers were publicly rewarded by Mr. Kostić, who described individual qualities and contribution of each of the rewarded employees.

The guest were entertained by a music band from Belgrade, while Mr. Kostić himself, sang a song originally performed by famous Bosnian pop singer Hajrudin Varešanaović, aka Hari Mata Hari – Leyla.

Novi Sad Bus Factory Neobus ad, fulfilling its investment plan, bought a Water Jet CNC machine for precise cutting of all sorts of materials and surfaces. With this procurement Neobus is classified in the order of the factories with the latest technical achievements in its possession enabling the company to achieve great productivity and technical perfection of production. The machine functions using water and quartz sand under extremely high pressure to cut various materials. It is compatible with computer design tools, thus making it possible for Neobus’ engineers to totally express their creativity and reach the design and quality level of western bus producers. The operators of the machine successfully passed a special training and are now thoroughly qualified for the use of the Water Jet.

After 18 years, Neobus closed its first export deal with Saudi transport company ALAA M. A. MAGHRABI TRADING EST. The owner of this establishment is also the owner of Neobus, Mr. Alaa Maghrabi Mohammedali A.  The buses are meant for Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina. 27 vehicles departed from Novi Sad on June the 9th to reach Croatian port of Rijeka where they were boarded on a ship which should take them to Saudi port of Jeddah. There are 15 midi buses of type Neobus Mercury and 12 Neobus Solle tourist buses. While Mercury is a luxorious 8,5 meters vehicle, Solle is a 12 meters long tourist and intercity bus aiming at comfort of a coach.The vehicles are built on FAP chassis and enriched with engines and gearboxes made by FAMOS, Istočno Sarajevo.

The buses are optimally adjusted to the needs of pilgrims. They are equipped with technical water tanks to enable ritual bathing of the pilgrims. Also, drinking watter reservoirs are built in to provide refreshments for the passengers. All vehicles have A/C units with separate drive enabling it to run without bus engine running. This is of highest importance as temperatures often reach 50 Degrees of Celsius in Saudi Arabia during Hajj period.

This way the Hajjis are able to honor their religious rules and enjoy comfort of a tourist bus.

After returnig from Rijeka, where he arived together with the buses, in question General Manager of Neobus, Mr. Radenko Kostić said that he hoped this shall be only the first step in the Arab world's market penetration by Neobus.

Majority shares holder of Neobus, Saudi businessman Mr. Alaa Maghrabi Mohammedali A talked to president Tadić and the ambassador and Mr. president spoke highly about the privatization of Neobus refering to it as an ''example of success''.

"This is an example of success, especially with metal industry colapsing all over the world, while here in Neobus, they plan to increase the production volume.'' stated Mr. Tadić after his tour of Neobus' production hall.
 
The reason of this event is The Agreement between Dutch VDL and Neobus stipulating production of three prototypes of luxury suburban bus ''Bova Lexio'' in Neobus and additional 150 buses per year for three years period should tthe quality of hose prototypes satisfy the Dutch partner.
